Our main warehouse has a LOT of what we call “Boneyard” cabinets. For many different reasons (none of them my fault), these cabinet just sit around taking up space until someone comes along and buys them for their garage, laundry, hobbyroom, workshop, etc. From time to time we will have a huge cabinet sale, and you really can’t beat the deal you can get on these cabinets!

But most people don’t realize the cool stuff you can do with cabinets. They see a cabinet and think “kitchen” I see a cabinet and think “furniture”!

Here is a project I worked on over the weekend to jazz up my entryway for a superbowl party!

Step 1: Buy some cabinets from The Cabinet Guy for a ridiculously good deal…

Step 2: Relieve your 401k looking more like a 201k frustrations by abusing new cabinets with sandpaper. Breathe deeply. Now close your eyes and imagine you are that guy on PBS with the Fro that paints the “Happy Trees” pictures. While keeping your eyes closed, dip your your brush into the paint and make some magic happen.

Step3:Attach cabinets together with the fastening device of your choice (preferably screws), build countertop with MDF shelf from Big Box store of your choice (preferably Lowes), and finish your painting (preferably with eyes open)

Step4: ( Note: many items in step 4 can be avoided if you think ahead) Level cabinets on wall, yell to your beautiful Fiance’ to bring drill in from outside, ask beautiful Fiance’ to hold cabinets in place while you run around looking for your masonry drill bits, assure beautiful Fiance’ you have almost found them as she yells “These things are getting heavy!”, wonder if beautiful Fiance’ is having second thoughts about her future unorganized husband, find drill bits, attach to wall, kiss beautiful Fiance’.

Step 5: Have Beautiful Fiance’ decorate your new work of cabinet art!

Step 6: Have friends OOOOOhhh and AAAAhhhh at the sweet creation that YOU made!

Buckhead Church has a sweet new website everyone should check out! The old one did have some elements of lameness “unless your the designer of the old site and you want some cabinets, in that case the old site was the coolest site EVER”…but this one rocks and provides a much more engaging web experience!

To celebrate the launching of the new site, I’m gonna offer a sweet deal of a Cabinet Sale! Anyone who takes the new site for a test drive and tells me their favorite thing about it can be eligible for the following sweet deals on any order placed in February! Anyone who can show me a program from a February Service can get 5% off any order placed in February! If anyone brings a friend “or even if you qualify yourself” that has either NEVER BEEN TO CHURCH or used to goto church and quit going because they got nothing out of it and writes me an Email about their experience, can get an extra 10% off any order placed in February! If you bring MULTIPLE friends that qualify… you get Andy Stanley pricing!

Most of the time I never get to see what actually goes on in the design masterpieces I create…

I don’t get to see the spaghetti sauce on your backsplash…

I don’t get to taste the latest 30 minute meal you whipped up…

I don’t even get to hear you yell at your husband about how you really wish you sprung for the pull out trays I recommended…

But from time to time I get to catch a glimpse of life in a Cabinet Guy kitchen…

It was the 100th day of school at a local elementary school and I got the awesome opportunity to help bake some cupcakes for a 1st grade class who’s teacher I recently helped renovate her kitchen.

What are YOU doing to make people smile in YOUR kitchen??

While HGTV has been doing it’s part to bring KBIS “Kitchen and Bath Industry show” to the masses, My Nikon camera and I are gonna one up them and bring YOU KBIS 2008 Cabinet Guy style! The fun part will be if they say no… since I’m kind of a big deal in the cabinet world I get invited to lots of cabinet parties where lots of people have lots to drink… Now how many cabinet people do you know that love their customers so much they even resort to blackmail to bring them the SWEETEST DEALS EVER!!

Quality Cabinet Dulce ExpressoIt’s about time Quality Cabinets came out with a dark stain! Quality is my favorite manufacture I deal with and it has brought tears to my eyes when people have had to venture into other cabinet lines JUST to get a dark stain! This stain is available on Maple [Dulce] and Oak [Expresso]. The Espresso on Hancock Oak looks like something that jumped straight out of the Pottery Barn catalog and into your house!
